Over the last few weeks, rumors had been circling that Sebastian Cordova had potentially played his last game with Club America in the Liga MX. It's something fans most certainly weren't hoping to see.
Unfortunately for those folks who dreamed of him continuing to play for the Mexico City side, that's no longer the case. On Tuesday, Cordova, per local reports, is getting ready to sign a new four-year deal with Tigres.
He took to Instagram to confirm the news he's leaving Club America, sending an emotional message to all of his supporters.
"Club America fans, thank you for all of your support during this chapter full of learning, success and love. You can have all the confidence knowing I always gave it all my every minute I was on the pitch, fighting for these colors with pride and passion," Cordova said in part of his post.
Obviously, this is a difficult time for the youngster. He had hopes of having a long and successful career with the club he loved so much, but things just didn't work out for him in this case.
Now, the 24-year-old attacking midfielder will hope to hit the ground running with Tigres and have a big upcoming season. Due to injury, Cordova was only able to appear in 15 matches for Las Aguilas this season, scoring three goals.
Both Club America and Tigres will hope to win the Liga MX title next time around and dethrone Atlas, who won it earlier this month over Leon via a penalty shootout. For Cordova, he'll be rocking a Tigres jersey in trying to make that happen and not a Club America one.
