Chelsea has agreed to loan Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan

Romelu Lukaku leaving Chelsea for loan at Inter Milan

Just like that, Chelsea FC star striker Romelu Lukaku won't be back at Stamford Bridge next season. Big Rom's first year with Chelsea didn't go as planned, as he wasn't able to really find his footing with the club.

Now, Lukaku will be returning to the Serie A, as it was just revealed by insider Fabrizio Romano that the Belgian standout will be headed back to Inter Milan next season on a loan. That deal will last until June of 2023.

Lukaku arrived to Chelsea FC last August, signing a five-year deal with the team. Chelsea broke the bank and reached a record fee with Inter to land him. As soon as Lukaku made his return to the English Premier League, everyone was fired up.

However, that excitement didn't last long, as Lukaku really didn't live up to the hype from the start of the season. He and Thomas Tuchel weren't on the same page from the first game it felt like and Lukaku made it quite clear he wasn't happy with the squad.

Things got progressively worse over the year, and the rumors started to swirl consistently that he could be leaving town. Now, Lukaku has gotten his wish and he'll be reunited with former teammates at Inter.

Lukaku is no question a terrific player and he has the potential to be one of the best strikers in the world. With that said, he took a step back career wise last season with Chelsea FC. He'll hope to get things back on track in 2022-23 and we now know that will come over in Italy with Inter Milan
