There's no question that Paul Pogba is one of the best playmakers in the world. The Manchester United midfielder is coming off a sensational showing at the Euros, and he was also brilliant in the Premier League too.
However, he only has one year left on his contract with United. With the potential of him leaving for free next summer, the Man United higher-ups know they might have to make a difficult decision and sell him this summer. Does that open the door for Paris Saint-Germain?
According to reports out of England and France, PSG indeed has interest in potentially acquiring Pogba from United for around $80-90 million. Can you imagine if Pogba were to join the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Neymar Jr. and others?
Goodness, this would have PSG considered among the favorites to win the Champions League title next season. In 2021, they lost in the semifinals. Meanwhile the year before, PSG lost the Final to Bayern Munich.
Neymar has dreams of helping the Parisian giants win it all, though. He had been linked with a potential return to Barcelona, but decided to stay in town. The same can be said for Mbappe.
Now, the front office has rewarded their loyalty by bringing in Gianluca Donnarumma, Sergio Ramos, Achraf Hakimi and others. If a blockbuster move was pulled off and Pogba made his way to PSG, it'd turn the soccer world upside down. Fans would lose their minds all over social media and rightfully so.
We'll see if PSG can indeed make magic happen here and get things done. If they do, it would send quite the statement to all the big clubs in the world as to how serious they are to win the CL. Again, Manchester United may be forced to make a tough decision. Stay tuned to see if it ends up happening.
