For some Monday night soccer action, everyone expected Manchester City to dominate Burnley at the Etihad Stadium. The writing was on the wall. However, no one could have predicted what actually happened.
Indeed, City was dominant from start to finish and cruised to a powerful 5-0 win. That's right, five goals on the evening.

For City, Phil Foden was no doubt the man of the match. The 20-year-old midfielder opening the scoring with a powerful left strike in the 22nd minute (video below). He wasn't done there, though. With Man City up 4-0, Foden scored his second goal in the 63rd minute to close things out at 5-0.
Two in two for the 20 year old!

Foden wasn't the only standout, as Riyad Mahrez also scored twice (once from the penalty spot), while David Silva also found the back of the net for the reigning English Premier League champions.
With the win, Man City continues to push back the celebrations for Liverpool, which is looking for its first EPL title since 1990. The Reds were hoping for a Man City loss or draw, which would have opened the door for Liverpool to capture the championship in its next match.
Alas, they'll have to remain patient. City isn't just going to hand things over.
