Will Raheem extend his contract with Manchester City?

Pep Guardiola says Raheem Sterling contract decision is up to the club

So much attention has gone to Liverpool and the contract situation for Mo Salah, that sometimes we forget that a major decision is coming for Manchester City as well. Will Raheem Sterling ink a new deal?

That's the question countless folks have out there, as the star goal-scorer's current contract will, like Salah, also expire next year. If you ask Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, he knows it's up to the club to make that decision, but he's loved what he's seen from him over the last six years.

"During that period (six seasons), there are highs and lows," Guardiola said. "It’s part of life. Teams are not honeymoons. There are problems and we have to solve them. Nobody doubts how important that is. He is showing what. What I want is for all the players that play good."

This season, Sterling has been tremendous for City, though he hasn't been too happy with his lack of action at times. On the year, Sterling has scored 10 goals in 21 Premier League games, while adding three goals in the Champions League.

Sterling made plenty of headlines in the recent showdown against Norwich City, as he scored an epic hat-trick in the 4-0 win. With Sterling playing so well and Guardiola doing his thing as manager, Man City looks ready to run away with the Premier League title.

If City gets that job done, it'd be their fourth EPL crown in the past five years, which is wild to think about. With all that greatness, City fans don't want any of the stars to leave town in the near future. This obviously includes Sterling. Time will tell if he ends up getting that new contract he deserves.
