Sergio Aguero Manchester City

Aguero and De Bruyne lead Manchester City to 2-0 win over Sheffield United

In Friday’s 3-2 loss to Wolves, Sergio Aguero’s day was cut short after just 12 minutes of action, as Pep Guardiola was forced to make a switch after Ederson was given a red card. As you might imagine, the Argentine striker was surely hungry to make up for lost time on Sunday.

Against Sheffield United, Aguero put Friday well behind him, opening up the scoring for City in a much-needed 2-0 win at the Etihad Stadium.

Aguero’s goal came in the 52nd minute, as he sent home a powerful shot after receiving a great pass from teammate Kevin De Bruyne. Aguero now has 10 goals in 15 English Premier League games this season. He just has a knack for scoring, doesn’t he?

Meanwhile for De Bruyne, we’ve mentioned his name consistently this season and it’s easy to see why. The Belgian midfielder is in the middle of his best campaign yet.

In addition to his assist for Aguero’s goal, De Bruyne also beat the Sheffield United keeper himself, closing the scoring in the 82nd minute with his fantastic finish.

On the season, De Bruyne has a mind-blowing 12 assists in the EPL, which is four more than anyone else in the league. That speaks volumes to how tremendous he’s been for Guardiola and City, which now holds 41 points on the year and sit in third place of the table.
