This is what you call the response of champions.Â

On Sunday night, Manchester City traveled to the Emirates Stadium to meet Arsenal, hoping to completely wipe away the memories of its 2-1 loss at home to Manchester United the previous weekend.Â
Â
Well, it’s safe to say the team did just that, as they had no problems whatsoever taking down the Gunners 3-0. The man of the match no question was Kevin De Bruyne, who finished the evening with a pair of goals and an assist.Â
Â
The Belgian midfielder opened the scoring in just the second minute, firing a cross from Gabriel Jesus into the top right corner. It sure was a laser of a delivery. In the 15th minute, De Bruyne set up Raheem Sterling for an easy shot in the box to put City up 2-0.Â
Â
Right before halftime, De Bruyne broke through the Arsenal defense and then fired off a peach of a strike past the diving Bernd Leno. That made things 3-0, and there was no miracle comeback for the home side in the second half.
Â
With the victory, Manchester City remains in third place of the English Premier League standings behind No. 1 Liverpool and No. 2 Leicester City. They’ll return to the pitch on Wednesday for a League Cup tilt with Oxford United before hosting LC in a monster game on Saturday night.Â
