Manchester City and Pep Guardiola are on top of the world
What are the haters saying now? In the win over Inter Milan, it was a back-and-forth match, with the Serie A side hoping to record the upset of the year. However, Rodri ruined those dreams with his second-half goal, which was a thing of beauty.
Romelu Lukaku nearly scored late in the second half to tie things up, but Ederson made a brilliant save. Inter Milan also hit the post to nearly even things up, but it wasn't meant to be for them.
As soon as the final whistle hit, several Man City players fell to the turf and cried tears of joy. Can you blame them? This has been an unreal year for the players and manager Pep Guardiola.
In addition to winning the Champions League for the first time, City also won the league for the third straight year. On top of that, they also beat rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup Final.
It has been basically a perfect season for the club and Guardiola. The parties haven't stopped all over Manchester and other cities in Europe to honor what MCFC was able to get done. This campaign is one that will be talked about for the rest of time.
