It's a game Liverpool fans will never forget. Scratch that, soccer followers across the globe surely still remember this one. In the 2005 Champions League final, Liverpool and AC Milan met in Istanbul.
The Italians got off to a hot start, taking a 1-0 lead. That advantage then grew to 2-0... then 3-0. English hearts were broken across Europe, with everyone thinking Liverpool was dead in the water. Except, they weren't.

This is inarguably the greatest comeback in European football history. No one thought Liverpool could recover, but led by captain Steven Gerrard, they did the unthinkable and clawed their way back.
After things finished at 3-3, plus extra time, the two sides went to a penalty kick shootout. As we all know by now, the Reds came out on top and captured their fifth Champions League title.
They've since made it six, with LFC taking down Tottenham in the final last year. As much as the Liverpool supporters enjoyed that win, nothing will top the 'Miracle in Istanbul.'
