Liverpool inches closer to Premier League title following draw in Merseyside Derby

While Liverpool and Everton went scoreless in the latest edition of the Merseyside Derby, that doesn't mean it was all bad news for LFC. With the 0-0 result, the Reds added a point to their season tally, bringing them one step closer to bringing home the title.
As things stand, Liverpool needs five more points, Man City to drop five points, or a combination of the two (for five points) to come out on top. That means things could be finalized as soon as this upcoming week.
It ends 0-0 at Goodison. #EVELIV

On Monday night, Manchester City will take on Burnley. If Burnley were to somehow take down the defending champions, that means Liverpool would be able to secure the championship with a win in its next match.
That's easier said than done, though, as Manchester City looked brilliant in its first game back against Arsenal. However, even if City were to go on and beat Burnley, a Liverpool win at home against Crystal Palace would bring them within two points of the glory.
Come July 2, Manchester City will host Liverpool in one of the biggest games of the season. A draw in that match would result in LFC winning the cup. Imagine them securing things at the Etihad Stadium? It would be glorious for Reds fans everywhere.
While supporters were hoping to lock things down against Everton in the derby, they'll have to stay patient a little longer. Trust us, though, after 30 years, the wait will certainly be worth it.
