Liverpool sets League Cup record with win over Chelsea

You'll never walk alone! Liverpool FC continues to be one of the best football teams in the world, and their dominance in England of late surely needs to be noted. Things continued on Sunday with a win over Chelsea.

The two teams treated fans to an incredible League Cup Final, with Liverpool winning the Carabao Cup in a penalty shootout. It was a game to remember, and now the Reds have won this tournament a record nine times.

Entering Sunday's game, Liverpool was tied with Manchester City with eight League Cup titles. Now, they stand alone at the top and they've certainly got bragging rights on the rest of their English Premier League rivals.

Sunday's final was a brilliant showcase between the two teams despite no goals being scored. This one went a full 120 minutes, as extra time was needed. Then, we went to a penalty shootout and the drama was through the roof.

Both teams made their first 10 tries, meaning the goalies had to go out and take a shot. For Liverpool, youngster Caoimhin Kelleher blasted his shot into the back of the net in style.

Chelsea wasn't so lucky, though, as Kepa skied his shot and sent it to the stands. With that miss, Liverpool was able to capture the crown and the fans erupted in celebration. Manager Jurgen Klopp was elated with the result.

“Tonight, facing Chelsea, there was like two lions going for each other,” Klopp said after the victory. “It was absolutely crazy. They started better, then we took over and were better.

This indeed was a win to remember for Liverpool. Now, this team has the Champions League and an EPL title on its mind as well. This could be a season to remember for LFC.
