Wherever you were watching the Liverpool vs. Leicester City game on Thursday, you probably heard the commentators go ahead and say the English Premier League is all but wrapped up.
On Boxing Day, Liverpool very well may have delivered the knockout punch to anyone hoping they won’t take home the league title, as they traveled to Leicester City and looked nothing short of overpowering in a 4-0 victory.
The Reds took a 1-0 lead in the 31st after Roberto ‘Bobby’ Firmino headed in a perfect cross from right back Trent Alexander-Arnold, who wasn’t done there.

After the two teams went into the halftime break with Liverpool up 1-0, the visitors dominated the second 45 minutes of play. James Milner scored on a penalty kick in the 71st minute, while Firmino added his second goal moments later off another terrific pass from Alexander-Arnold to make things 3-0.
Surely Alexander-Arnold would get on the scoresheet too, right? You bet, as the 21-year-old fired in an unstoppable shot in the 78th minute to close the scoring at 4-0. On the day, Alexander-Arnold had the one goal and a pair of assists for quite the day at the office.
Liverpool now has 52 points out of a possible 54 on the year and are 13 points ahead of second-place Leicester City and 14 ahead of Manchester City (City plays on Friday). Go ahead and start shining the trophy for the Reds. This year, the league title belongs to them.
