While Liverpool stars like Mo Salah and Sadio Mane get all the attention for their tremendous goal-scoring abilities, few can argue centre-back Virgil van Dijk is the straw that stirs the drink for the club.
Make no mistake about it, the big-bodied defender is among the best in the world and is no stranger to finding the back of the net himself. But, with all the success he and the Reds have had of late, his play is certainly drawing attention around the world.
More specifically, he's making plenty of waves in Italy. According to a report, Juventus has their eyes on the superstar from the Netherlands. And, they're willing to break the bank and make history to land him.
Indeed, the Italian giants appear to be serious in their efforts to bring van Dijk to Turin in the near future. With Cristiano Ronaldo turning 35 on Feb. 5, it goes without saying, but he's on the back-end of his tremendous career.
Should Juventus bring in van Dijk, they'd instantly become serious contenders to win the Champions League. However, that all comes down to if Liverpool would be open to him leaving Anfield.
He's a fan favorite and has had an amazing career with LFC. Last year, he helped the team win the Champions League. This year -- knock on wood -- he'll be lifting the English Premier League trophy, giving the Reds its first league championship in 30 years.
For now, fans will continue to watch his stellar play for the Reds. Come this summer, though, we'll have to wait and see if he'll be heading to Italy, or if he'll return to the club that loves him so much in Liverpool.
