Jalen Hurts and the Eagles are on top of the world right now.

Eagles News: Philly upsets Kansas City, Jalen Hurts steals the show again

It wasn't pretty by any means, but the Philadelphia Eagles and Jalen Hurts were able to get some revenge on the Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes. This was a game that people are going to be talking about for a while.

To close out Week 11 on Monday Night Football, Kansas City hosted Philly for a rematch of last year's Super Bowl. In the end, the NFC East Eagles were able to escape with a 21-17 victory - Philly made the plays needed late, while the Chiefs did the opposite.

The Eagles are now 9-1 on the season after beating the Chiefs

In the fourth quarter, the Chiefs were ready to try and put some points on the board, deep in Philly territory. However, a Mahomes pass to Travis Kelce ended with a fumble. It was a disaster for the AFC West squad.

Then with the game on the line, Mahomes delivered a perfect ball for wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling to come down with, but the veteran receiver somehow let the ball slip out of his hands. Had he caught it, the play would have resulted in a game-winning score. Instead, KC lost in heartbreaking fashion.

Jalen Hurts got the job done for the Eagles against Kansas City

In the matchup of Hurts vs. Mahomes, few can argue that the Philly QB was able to outclass his fellow star signal-caller. Hurts only tossed for 150 yards and had an interception on the night.

However, Hurts was downright brilliant with his legs, rushing for two scores, the second giving Philly the lead for good. Because of his incredible showing vs. KC, Hurts is now the No. 1 odds holder to win NFL MVP this winter.

While that honor for Hurts would be nice and fans would celebrate it, he has other things on his mind - a Lombardi Trophy. The Eagles are 9-1 and hold the top seed in the NFC. After losing in the Super Bowl last year, Philly is motivated to get the job done this season. If they do, Hurts will play a massive role in capturing the glory.
