Chelsea reportedly wins the race to land prized German striker Timo Werner

Just when everyone thought RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner would be headed to Liverpool, a different English Premier League giant has swooped in and reportedly landed him.
According to multiple reports, Chelsea have agreed to a deal with RB Leipzig and to personal terms with Werner to bring him to London. Talk about a shocker, but also a huge move for Frank Lampard and Co.

Per BBC Sport, Werner has a release clause of £54 million. Other reports have stated Chelsea and the striker have agreed to a deal through the 2025 campaign.
It goes without saying, but Werner has quickly become one of the most-prized players in all of Europe. This season for RB Leipzig, the 24-year-old playmaker has scored 31 goals and provided 12 assists in 40 appearances. In Bundesliga play, he has an unreal 25 goals in 29 matches.
With his great speed and brilliant finishing abilities, he'll be expected to make a huge, immediate impact from his first action with the Blues. Lampard has to be doing cartwheels right now in celebration. This is major news for Chelsea.
