The defensive midfielder just turned 21 years old in January and no doubt has his best football ahead of him. He made his England national team starting debut a year ago and is hoping to keep his caps growing.
Moving to a powerhouse like Chelsea could certainly help out those efforts. Thus far this season, Rice has two assists in 29 matches. He's known for his bulldog-type ways on the pitch. Good luck trying to stop him at full speed.
The big issue for Chelsea in their potential pursuit would be that Rice has four years remaining on his current contract with West Ham United. There's also the option of a fifth-year extension.
While the Blues were unable to add a defensive midfielder during the January transfer window, Rice could certainly be their answer come this summer. For now, as time passes, the speculation on a potential move to Chelsea will only increase. Blues fans would agree he'd sure look good suiting up and playing in front of them.
