Tammy Abraham’s late heroics lift Chelsea over Arsenal at the Emirates

What a finish at the Emirates! Surely, Arsenal fans must have felt like a victory over Chelsea was in the bag on Sunday morning. However, Jorginho and Tammy Abraham had other ideas, as there was late drama. In the end, the Blues left the stadium with a 2-1 win.

Indeed, the Gunners went up 1-0 early on a goal from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Frenchman’s moment came on a lovely header, which he celebrated in style with a front flip.

While Arsenal was in front for virtually the entire game, they were never able to add a second goal to put Chelsea away. This proved costly as things were winding down.

In the 83rd minute, Jorginho evened the score at 1-1 following a rough play by Arsenal keeper Bernd Leno. On a free kick, Leno misjudged the flight of the ball and completely whiffed on his attempt to punch it out of the box. Jorginho was right there to easily score after Leno’s mistake.

With the game on the line, Abraham did what he does best and gave the Blues the W. Just four minutes after Chelsea tied the game, the star striker made things 2-1 on a superb play inside the box. Abraham showcased quality footwork, then fired a strong shot pass the diving Leno.

As soon as Abraham’s shot found the net, Frank Lampard understandably went wild, as his team came from behind to capture the important three points. Chelsea remains in fourth place of the English Premier League standings following the victory.
