This could end up being a high-scoring affair. In this piece, we take a look at four players who could have a big say in things.
4. Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah
Let's not forget that Salah is still one of the best strikers in the EPL. The Liverpool star is coming off a sensational showing against Rangers in the Champions League, in which he recorded a hat-trick. Now, he'll hope to score against City in front of the fans at Anfield. It wouldn't be a shocker whatsoever to see Salah score at least one goal in this one. The man is simply too good.
3. Manchester City striker Erling Haaland
It's hard to put into words how amazing Erling Haaland has been for MCFC thus far this season. The kid is goal-scoring machine, as he's made opposing defenders look silly in trying to stop him. LFC center back Virgil van Dijk and Co. will have a tall task in trying to slow him down and Haaland is 100 percent a threat to score once again this weekend.
2. Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez
Will this be the game where Darwin Nunez has a breakout for Liverpool? The Uruguayan arrived to Anfield with comparisons to Luis Suarez. He was supposed to be the next big star for the club. Thus far, that hasn't been the case and he has struggled to adapt to the Premier League. Nunez has a great opportunity to silence all of his haters out there if he can record a strong showing vs. City.
1. Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne
Kevin De Bruyne is not only one of the best midfielders in the EPL, but you can make the argument that he's among the best in the world. He's delivering for City time and time again. He'll be a key figure for MCFC on Sunday at Anfield, as people are counting on him to help City get three points going up against their big-time rivals. We'll find out soon enough if De Bruyne steps up like usual for this team.
