Even before Liverpool and Chelsea players took the pitch at Anfield on Wednesday, everyone knew the two English powerhouses would treat us all to quite the match. But, who expected all the fireworks we just saw?

In inarguably one of the best matches of the year, Liverpool took down the Blues 5-3 in a contest that had four goals scored in both the first half and second half.

Naby Keita opened things in the 23rd minute with an absolute rocket of a goal, while Trent Alexander-Arnold doubled Liverpool's lead in the 38th minute with an incredible free kick.

After Gini Wijnaldum's goal put LFC up 3-0, Chelsea's Olivier Giroud found the back of the net to close the scoring at half at 3-1. In the second half, Roberto Firmino finally scored at Anfield to put the Reds up 4-1.

Christian Pulisic was subbed on for Chelsea, though, and completely changed the game for the Blues. He quickly cut Chelsea's deficit to 4-2 after a great assist to Tammy Abraham. Pulisic then scored a sensational goal himself in the 73rd minute, bringing Chelsea within 4-3.

However, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain delivered the final blow in the 84th minute to give Liverpool its 5-3 win. It was an incredible game, which will also feature Jordan Henderson lifting the EPL title trophy high into the sky for the Reds. What a night for Liverpool.
