Erling Haaland gives 'green light' for Manchester City move
It now feels only like a matter of time before Manchester City improves its already loaded offensive attack. For months now, the Erling Haaland rumors have been heating up, but they've reached a new level.
Earlier this week, The Athletic reported that the superstar striker has given the green light for a move to the Etihad Stadium this summer. It's now on City to pay the release clause and offer up a huge salary for the striker, but the wheels are surely in motion.
🚨 Erling Haaland understood to have approved Man City move & initial personal terms agreed. Still work to do on contract, payment to Dortmund, agent commission etc so not yet closed & will take time @TheAthleticUK (follows @MikeKeegan_DM scoop) #MCFC #BVB https://t.co/WabQnU56PS— David Ornstein (@David_Ornstein) April 19, 2022
City has been on the hunt to find a full-time replacement for the attack from when club legend Sergio Aguero left town for Barcelona. Aguero has since retired from the game due to a heart condition.
Haaland has long been looked at the man for the job, as Pep Guardiola is a big fan of his play. Haaland is one of the most exciting young talents in the game, period. Imagine him making the move to the EPL too.
Both he and Kylian Mbappe have been linked to multiple clubs, as the PSG man himself appears to have one foot out the door. Mbappe is expected to join Real Madrid later this year, as it's no secret it's his dream to play for Los Blancos.
For Haaland, his move to Man City - should it be finalized down the road - will have MCFC fans going nuts. This season, the club looks primed to win its fourth EPL title in the past five years, while they're in the hunt to win the Champions League too.
Adding a player of Haaland's caliber is only going to strengthen the team's chances of continuing to dominate the Premier League, while making plenty of noise all over Europe too.
