The English Premier League was back in full force over the weekend, with the English Premier League schedule providing some incredible games for fans to enjoy. While things won't be finalized until after Monday night's showdown between Manchester City and Wolves, we're taking a quick rewind to see how our teams performed. 

While all eyes were on the Liverpool FC and Chelsea FC match, Tottenham Hotspur turned plenty of heads with its five-goal performance against Southampton. We cover that and more below. 

Sadio Mane powers Liverpool FC to huge road win against Chelsea FC

It was the Liverpool FC Sadio Mane show against Chelsea FC, with the striker scoring two goals in the 2-0 victory. The Liverpool news surely surrounded Mane's brilliant performance, but Allison Becker also recorded a penalty save in the big victory at Stamford Bridge. 

For Chelsea FC, the Chelsea transfer news only provided more speculation after keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga had another day to forget on the pitch. His mind-numbing mistake led to Mane's easy second goal of the day. 

Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son star in Spurs win over Southampton 

It was the Karry Kane and Heung-Min Son show for Tottenham Hotspur in their 5-2 victory over Southampton. In that victory, Spurs and Jose Mourinho saw Son score four goals, which were provided by wonderful Kane assists. Those four assists set a new English Premier League record for the most assists to one player in a single match. To make things even sweeter, Kane scored a late goal as well. 

Arsenal FC earns thrilling late victory over West Ham United

There was some late drama for Arsenal FC against West Ham United, with the Gunners earning a thrilling 2-1 victory. With things tied at 1-1, Eddie Nketiah scored in the 85th minute to give his team the win. Alexandre Lacazette also found the back of the net for Arsenal FC, which is now a perfect 2-0 to start the campaign. 

Manchester City facing Wolves on Monday night in an anticipated showdown

We of course haven't forgotten about the Manchester City news. The team is in action on Monday night against Raul Jimenez and Wolves. Once that contest goes final, this article will be updated.
