Can Christian Pulisic become the best American to play in the Premier League?

Christian Pulisic is in the middle of his second season with Chelsea FC, and the expectations remain high for the American winger. But, just how good can he end up being fo the Blues at Stamford Bridge?

Early on, Pulisic has most certainly passed the eye test, but he hasn't even scratched the surface of just how good can he be. While it's so incredibly early in his Premier League career, we find ourselves wondering if he can become the best player from the USA to suit up in the EPL. So, is it possible?

In order for Pulisic to make history and call himself the best American to ever play in the Premier League, he'll have to outplay some true legends of the game. The long list of course includes the likes of Kasey Keller, Tim Howard and others.

Starting with Keller, he appeared in more than 200 EPL matches total suiting up for Leicester City, Tottenham, Fulham and Southampton. Keller will go down as one of the best keepers in U.S. history.

The same can be said for Howard, who made 399 English Premier League appearances between the posts for Everton and Manchester United, posting 132 clean sheets. While with United, Howard won the 2004 FA Cup. He's also a legend for Everton, as he made some incredible saves for the club over the years.

Those two players stand at the top of U.S. players in the EPL, but Pulisic sure has what it takes to leave his mark in England. Remember, he's only in his second year in the EPL and is 22 years old, not turning 23 until next September.

No one has forgotten about his incredible hat trick against Burnley in 2019-20 to really announce his arrival to Chelsea. Frank Lampard has big plans for the former Borussia Dortmund star with the Blues. If he can stay healthy, he really does have what it takes to be a superstar in this league for years to come.

It won't come easy, but with hard work, determination and some incredible goals for Chelsea, Pulisic surely could go down as the best player from the United States to play in the Premier League. If he wins a league title or two with Chelsea, it will only add to his resume.

So far, he's had a hot start for Chelsea. Let's see just how high the youngster can climb for the club.
