Chelsea on the Rise

There’s no denying the 2019-20 English Premier League season couldn’t have gotten off to a worse start for Chelsea. The club went to Old Trafford with high expectations against Manchester United, ready to start the campaign off hot.

Instead, the team was walloped 4-0, with Frank Lampard understandably upset after the final whistle. Things have surely changed since then.

In its last 11 matches, Chelsea has eight wins, two draws and only one defeat, which came to unstoppable Liverpool. While they’ve been balanced both offensively and defensively during a current six-game winning streak, we’ve got to point out the emergence of both Tammy Abraham and Christian Pulisic.

Starting with the American midfielder, Pulisic has been in splendid form of late, scoring five goals in his last three games. He truly announced his arrival to the Premier League with his hat trick on the road against Burnley on Oct. 26.

As for Abraham, the forward has been playing like a beast for Chelsea, scoring 10 goals on the year and adding two assists. Abraham has been so good, he just scored his first senior goal for England against Montenegro in a Euro 2020 qualifier.

With playmakers like Abraham and Pulisic leading the way, Chelsea is now in third place in the EPL standings, tied in points with second-placed Leicester City. They’ve surely sent a statement to the rest of the league thus far this season.
