Frank Lampard is back as the Chelsea caretaker manager.

Chelsea welcomes back Frank Lampard as caretaker manager

He's back! With Chelsea FC making the tough decision to part ways with manager Graham Potter, the search for a replacement has already started for the Blues. However, before the full-time hire is made, a caretaker manager has made his way to Stamford Bridge.

And CFC has gone with the right man for the job: Frank Lampard. The club legend was previously the team's manager, but things didn't work out for him. Now, though, Lampard, who is adored all over London, is ready to help this team get back on track for the rest of the campaign.

"We are delighted to welcome Frank back to Stamford Bridge," co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali said in a statement via the club. "Frank is a Premier League Hall of Famer and a legend at this club. As we continue our thorough and exhaustive process for a permanent head coach, we want to provide the club and our fans with a clear and stable plan for the remainder of the season.

"We want to give ourselves every chance of success and Frank has all of the characteristics and qualities we need to drive us to the finish line."

Things haven't gone according to plan for Chelsea FC this campaign, as they currently sit in 11th place of the Premier League table. There's no chance this team finishes in the Top 4, as they'll surely be out of the Champions League next season.

Despite that, several exciting signings have been made, including Enzo Fernandez and more. Lampard isn't expected to turn things around all of a sudden at the Bridge, but he's the right man for the job to help Chelsea for the rest of 2022-23.

He knows the ins and outs of the club - we sure wish him well moving forward with Chelsea.
