With major moves expected to be made by the Chelsea front office this summer, we've already got our first deal finalized... and it's a big one.
On Thursday, after rumors had been swirling over the past few days, the Blues made things official and announced they've agreed to a £33 million fee with Ajax to sign prized attacking midfielder Hakim Ziyech.
We have some Hakim Ziyech news… 👀— Chelsea FC (@ChelseaFC) February 13, 2020
This is a big-time signing for Chelsea, as Ziyech continues to dazzle whenever he's on the pitch. In the Eredivisie (top Netherlands league), Ziyech has six goals and 12 assists in 18 matches this campaign. He's added three goals in Champions League play.
At 26 years old, his best football is ahead of him. In addition to his strong form with Ajax, he's also a playmaker for the Morocco National Team. Ziyech will arrive to Chelsea in June once his season comes to a close with Ajax in Amsterdam.
He's known for his powerful left foot, which has provided some outstanding goals over the years (see highlights below). As soon as he gets to Stamford Bridge, fans will be ready to watch him deliver even more magic now that he'll be playing in the English Premier League.
This of course isn't the only business expected from Chelsea moving forward. While landing Ziyech is monstrous, the team is also expected to go all-in to sign Dortmund star and Englishmen Jadon Sancho. Getting Sancho to London will only make things even sweeter for Frank Lampard and Co.
