This one got off to a bit of a rocky start, though, as West Ham took a 1-0 lead in the 38th minute thanks to a goal from Angelo Ogbonna. At the halftime break, the Gunners were once again behind, with fans surely expecting the worst to once again happen.Â
Â
It didn’t.Â
Â
In a matter of nine minutes, Arsenal caught absolute fire, scoring three goals to take control of things. Gabriel Martinelli tied things up at 1-1 in the 60th minute, while Nicolas Pepe gave Arsenal the 2-1 advantage just six minutes later.Â
Â
Pepe put the Gunners in front with an absolute peach of a finish. The winger from the Ivory Coast received a pass from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, took a couple quick touches and then fired a gorgeous left-footed shot into the top corner. There was no chance for the West Ham goalie to keep it out.Â
Â
Speaking of Aubameyang, the Arsenal star sealed the win in the 69th minute with a goal of his own. The 3-1 triumph was the first win for interim manager Freddie Ljungberg and now has Arsenal in ninth place of the Premier League standings with 22 points.Â
